Mobility Scooter Rider, 105, Dies in Uckfield Collision With Ford KA

A 105-year-old man has tragically died following a road collision in Uckfield, Sussex Police have confirmed.

The incident occurred at around 1.44pm on Saturday, April 5, on the B2102 Bell Farm Road, just east of the junction with Brookside. The man had been crossing the road in his mobility scooter when he was struck by a blue Ford KA.

Emergency services, including police and paramedics, responded swiftly to the scene. Despite their best efforts, the man — who was from Uckfield — was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.

The driver of the Ford KA, an 87-year-old woman from Ringmer, was not injured in the incident.

A section of Bell Farm Road was temporarily closed while emergency services worked at the scene and collision investigators conducted enquiries.

Appeal for Witnesses
Sussex Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have relevant dash cam footage to come forward.
