Sussex Heritage Community have issued the following advice
The Sun is out & its a long weekend, whoop! However our heritage & environment is at risk. Many heritage sites and the environment they sit in are incredibly important and fragile, many are protected in law, please RESPECT these places and keep a watchful eye out for them.
It’s a criminal offence to cause damage either intentionally or by recklessness to Scheduled Ancient Monuments. Irreversible damage to archaeology = loss of knowledge and understanding, we will never get it back !
Do not wild camp or have BBQ’s or light fires without landowners permission.
THINK Ordnance, if discovered step away, don’t touch, call 999 Please take care, enjoy and look out for our shared heritage. Phone Police on 999 if you suspect criminal activity
