Attempted Tool Theft Sparks Police Appeal in Eastergate

West Sussex – Authorities are appealing to the public for information following an attempted tool theft from a parked vehicle in Eastergate, West Sussex. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, April 22, involved a white Ford Transit van targeted by would-be thieves in Peckham Chase.

CCTV Footage Reveals Suspects in Audi Q7

Police investigations have uncovered CCTV footage showing the suspects arriving in a dark-colored Audi Q7. The vehicle was parked alongside the white van, and the individuals proceeded to try gaining access. Their attempt, however, was abruptly cut short when the van’s alarm system was triggered, causing them to flee the scene.

The suspects did not succeed in stealing any tools, but the brazen attempt has prompted a wider appeal from Sussex Police as they continue their inquiries. Officers believe public assistance could prove crucial in identifying the perpetrators or uncovering further evidence.

Police are specifically seeking anyone who might have witnessed suspicious activity in the area during that timeframe or possesses relevant mobile phone recordings or private CCTV footage that might aid the investigation.

Those with information are urged to contact Sussex Police, either through their online reporting channels or by calling 101. When doing so, refer to serial 8 of 22/04.
