Elliott Moore, 33, of College Road in Eastbourne, is accused of attacking two men in the early hours of Monday, 4 August 2025. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5.45am, where the victims were found injured. Both were taken to hospital but have since been discharged. Their injuries, while serious, were not life-threatening.

The incident sparked a fast-moving investigation by Sussex Police. Moore was quickly arrested and charged not only with attempted murder, but also with causing grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 5 August and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 2 September.

Detective Constable Mike Symons reassured the public that police believe this was an isolated incident and said there is no ongoing risk to the wider community. Officers are still appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward, referencing the incident details when contacting the force.

This attack follows a number of serious violent crimes reported in Eastbourne this year, prompting renewed calls for increased community safety and police presence.
