Air Tanzania have gained three weekly slots at London Gatwick, the UKs second busiest airport for the winter season. The slots show Air Tanzania wanting to start Dar es Salaam twice weekly and once weekly to Kilimanjaro. Many other African Airlines such as Air Peace, Air Mauritius have also recently added London Gatwick flights to increase connectivity and accessibility to their country.

Air Tanzania have voiced their ambition to fly to London for years and now due to the deliveries of their brand new 787-8s is the perfect time to launch the long-aspired London flights. There are around 8 different African Airlines that have voiced their ambition to start London flights, one being Uganda Airlines which applied for 4 weekly flights at London Heathrow for this winter, although not gaining any slots at all. As African Airlines ramp up London operations, will Air Tanzania be the next African Airline to do so?
