Following a rapid police intervention, two individuals were detained related to a serious altercation in Crawley on Sunday morning, 13th August.
At approximately 5:30 am, Emergency Services was alerted to a stabbing incident at an apartment complex on Arthur Road.
In spite of immediate medical attention provided by the police and emergency medical teams, a young man in his 20s was tragically declared dead.
Family members of the deceased have been notified and are presently receiving support from specialized officers.
Police search efforts, including the deployment of a drone and the National Police Air Service helicopter, ensued.
These efforts culminated in the apprehension of two suspects: a 22-year-old from London and a 23-year-old local from Crawley, both under suspicion of murder. They are currently in police custody.
Detective Superintendent Andy Wolstenholme commented, “This incident appears to be a targeted act, and we believe there’s no imminent threat to the broader community. At this juncture, we aren’t pursuing any other individuals linked to this case.”
He added, “Given the urgency of this ongoing investigation, residents might notice heightened police activity in the vicinity. We urge anyone with pertinent information to approach us.”
