Police have arrested 21 people as part of a large-scale crackdown on drug dealing and organised crime across Bognor Regis.
The week-long operation, led by Sussex Police, targeted multiple drug lines suspected of distributing Class A substances in the area. Officers carried out coordinated raids, seizing quantities of suspected heroin and crack cocaine along with cash, mobile phones and other evidence linked to supply networks.
County Lines Dismantled
Detectives confirmed that several known “county lines” were disrupted during the operation, including lines referred to as MZY, Dropz, and Shadow. These groups are believed to have played a major role in moving drugs into the town and exploiting vulnerable people to assist their trade.
Police Statement
A Sussex Police spokesperson said the arrests mark a significant step in tackling serious organised crime in the region:
“This operation demonstrates our commitment to making Bognor Regis a safer place. Drug dealing causes harm to individuals, families and communities. By shutting down these lines, we are protecting the public and safeguarding those at risk of exploitation.”
Community Impact
Local residents have long raised concerns about the visible impact of drug activity in Bognor Regis, from anti-social behaviour to exploitation of young people. Police stressed that intelligence from the public played a key role in the success of the raids.
Ongoing Investigations
All 21 suspects are now under investigation, with several already facing court appearances. Officers added that enquiries are continuing and further arrests could follow.
Appeal for Information
Police are urging anyone with information about drug activity in their area to come forward. Reports can be made anonymously via Crimestoppers or directly to Sussex Police online.
