Police are appealing for information to help locate a man from Eastbourne who is wanted after failing to appear at court.
Michael Kavanagh, aged 38, was due to attend Lewes Crown Court earlier this year for sentencing but did not turn up. A warrant has now been issued for his arrest.
Kavanagh had previously pleaded guilty to offences linked to a fraud investigation. However, instead of appearing before the judge on his scheduled court date, he failed to attend and has not been seen since.
He is described as around 6ft tall, of athletic build, with dark hair. Kavanagh has known connections to both Eastbourne and Battle in East Sussex, and officers believe he may still be in the local area.
Police have urged the public not to approach him if spotted, but to report any sightings or information immediately.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “We are keen to locate Michael Kavanagh and would urge anyone who knows where he is or has seen him to get in touch. Please do not approach him.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting serial 1143 of 01/11/21, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
