18-year-old stabbed on Worthing seafront

Police are appealing for witnesses after a stabbing on Worthing seafront this afternoon (Tuesday, October 1).

Officers were called to Marine Parade at around 1.17pm following reports that three teenagers, one carrying a knife, were chasing another teenager along the promenade.

An 18-year-old man sustained a hand injury and was helped by members of the public before being taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The suspects, described as white males wearing black hoodies, fled west along Marine Parade.

A Sussex Police spokesperson confirmed that a heightened police presence will remain in the area this evening as enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Neil Walker, of Worthing CID, said:

“We’re in the very early stages of our investigation and are urging anyone with any information to please come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information, dashcam, or mobile footage from the area to get in touch immediately.
