Jet2 has announced a major expansion into London Gatwick Airport, marking its 14th UK base and the first major leisure airline launch at Gatwick since 2020.

From 26 March 2026, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will operate flights to 29 sunshine destinations, using six aircraft — including five brand-new, fuel-efficient Airbus A321neo jets. The move will create over 300 new jobs in flight deck, cabin crew, engineering and ground operations.

Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy said the Gatwick base is “a once-in-a-generation opportunity” to bring Jet2’s award-winning service to London and the South East.
