A man has pleaded guilty to a string of driving offences following a hit-and-run incident in Littlehampton town centre.

Sussex Police were called at around 6.30pm on Friday, August 2, after reports of dangerous driving involving a black Vauxhall Corsa. The car was later found to have collided with a parked vehicle in Beach Road, before the driver fled the scene on foot. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Following inquiries, officers arrested 30-year-old Jack Walters, of The Millers in Yapton, in connection with the incident.

He was later charged with multiple offences, including dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic accident, driving while disqualified, and driving without valid insurance.

Walters appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 5, where he admitted all charges. He has been granted bail and is due to return to the same court for sentencing on October 3.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said the case serves as a reminder of the consequences of reckless driving and urged motorists to drive responsibly, particularly in busy town centres.
