Man Remanded After Bognor Regis Station Stabbing

A 21-year-old man has appeared in court in connection with a stabbing at Bognor Regis railway station, following a British Transport Police investigation.

Jason McDonagh, born on 2 January 2004 and of no fixed address, appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 26 November charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

McDonagh was remanded in custody and will remain behind bars until his next court appearance.

Emergency services were called to Bognor Regis railway station just before 8.30am on Monday 25 November, after reports of a stabbing on the platforms. Officers attended within minutes, finding a man in his 20s injured at the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment. British Transport Police later confirmed his injuries were no longer being treated as life-changing, and he was discharged later the same day.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene by attending officers and taken into custody, where he was subsequently charged as part of the ongoing investigation.

British Transport Police have not released further details on the circumstances leading up to the incident.

Detectives continue to appeal for anyone with information or mobile footage of the incident to come forward via official reporting channels as enquiries remain active.
