Police are appealing for witnesses following a report of a man being sexually assaulted by another man in Bognor Regis.
The incident is reported to have happened on Aldwick Beach Promenade, opposite the Waverley Pub, between 10pm and 11pm on Tuesday 7 or Wednesday 8 October.
The victim was approached by an unknown man who is described as white, around 5ft 11ins tall, of medium build, aged in his late 40s to early 50s, with short dark curly hair and a thick beard.
Detectives are seeking to identify the man to either progress or eliminate him from the investigation and are urging anyone who saw what happened, or who has relevant information, to come forward.
A Sussex Police spokesperson said:
“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have seen a man matching this description. Any information, no matter how small, could be vital to our investigation.”

Police have also confirmed that increased patrols are taking place in the area to provide reassurance to the community.
