Police are appealing for witnesses after two women posing as nurses carried out distraction burglaries in Crawley and East Grinstead.
The first incident happened on Ifield Drive, Crawley, around 3pm on 23 September, when the pair knocked on a resident’s door claiming they had been sent by doctors to carry out medical checks. Once inside, one of the women asked to use the toilet before leaving with stolen jewellery.
Later the same afternoon, around 5pm, the suspects struck again in Fairfield Road, East Grinstead, using the same story to gain access to another home. On this occasion jewellery was also taken.
A third report from Ifield Drive the same day suggested the women entered another address but apparently left without taking anything.
Detectives say the incidents are being linked and enquiries are under way to trace the offenders. Police are urging anyone who saw the women, or who may have information about their movements, to come forward quoting Operation Dawn.

This happened to my 92 year old mother in Rainham Kent, the week before this. Two women posing as health workers stole cash and jewellery. Reported to Kent police. If same people they are obviously moving around. My mother is very shaken up by the episode.Unfortunaely no CCTV or witnesses. They drove off in a black car.
