Police are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old scooter rider was left with serious injuries following a collision in Chichester.

The incident happened between 2:00pm and 2:30pm on Thursday, 25 September, in St Pancras near the junction with New Park Road. The teenager was struck by a dark-coloured car, whose driver failed to stop at the scene.

Emergency services attended, and the boy was taken to hospital with a serious head injury, where he remains under treatment. Officers say the driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to identify them.

Police are particularly keen to trace the drivers of two dark-coloured cars that were believed to be in the area at the time. They are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage to come forward, quoting serial 882 of 25/09.
