Ten Hell’s Angels Members Charged Over Violent Disorder Near Findon

Ten members of the Hell’s Angels Motorcycle Club have been charged in connection with a series of violent incidents near Findon in West Sussex.

The charges follow a major police investigation into serious disorder that broke out on Findon Road on 8 October 2022, when members of the Hell’s Angels allegedly clashed with a rival motorcycle group.

The men appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 9 October, where they faced multiple charges including violent disorder, burglary, theft, and attempted grievous bodily harm.

Detective Inspector Andy Ricks said:

“Officers responded to serious incidents involving reports of violent disorder.
Following an investigation by CID colleagues, ten men have been charged and have appeared in court in connection with the incidents.
Serious violence and disorder has no place in our communities.”

Sussex Police confirmed the following individuals have been charged:

  • Gerald Abraham, 61, of Sladd Lane, Wolverley – charged with burglary and theft, and violent disorder.
  • Richard Bell, 54, of Hurst Drive, Stretton – charged with violent disorder.
  • Mark Cleavely, 60, of Richborough Drive, Dudley – charged with burglary and theft, violent disorder, and two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm.
  • Shane Cox, 39, of Charles Road, Quarry Bank, Dudley – charged with burglary and theft, and violent disorder.
  • Dean Darby, 41, of Oakthorpe Gardens, Tividale, Oldbury – charged with burglary and theft, violent disorder, and attempted grievous bodily harm.
  • Andrew Evans, 40, of Rudyard Close, Wolverhampton – charged with violent disorder.
  • Justin Hollingworth, 37, of Applegarth Close, Cleethorpes – charged with attempted grievous bodily harm and violent disorder.
  • Matthew Lemm, 45, of Colliery Close, Chase Terrace, Burntwood – charged with burglary and theft, violent disorder, and attempted grievous bodily harm.
  • Darren Lloyd, 58, of Stourbridge Road, Didley – charged with burglary and theft, violent disorder, possession of a bladed article, and possession of cocaine.
  • Conor Passey, 33, of Sheepwash Lane, Wolverley – charged with burglary and theft, violent disorder, and attempted grievous bodily harm.

All ten men have been released on bail and are due to appear before Crown Court on 6 November.
