Hastings Coastguard and RNLI Hastings Lifeboat Station joined forces yesterday (28th April 2023) afternoon to rescue a person who was stranded by the tide near Fairlight Cove. The individual, who found themselves in need of assistance, was safely retrieved without injury, thanks to the quick response of the rescue teams.

At 14:14, the inshore lifeboat from RNLI Hastings Lifeboat Station was dispatched to the scene. The team managed to successfully locate, access, and extricate the individual without the need for a rope rescue. Following the operation, the person was brought back to Pett Level, unharmed, and provided with essential sea safety advice.

The incident serves as a crucial reminder for those who enjoy walks near the beach to always check tide times before setting out. In case of emergency or if anyone finds themselves in difficulty, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
