The Eastbourne RNLI Volunteer Crew were training on Sunday morning when they were tasked to assist a vessel that suffered engine failure close to the entrance to Sovereign Harbour.

Once on scene, they established a tow to get the vessel and its crew into the harbour locks before returning to their training exercise.

Later on Sunday, they were paged to reports of a windsurfer in distress but they were stood down before launch as the windsurfer had made it to shore. A short time later they were paged to assist with search but were again stood down before launching as the person was found safe.
