Sussex News is saddened to report that one person is dead and another has been released from hospital, following the massive emergency services operation on Brighton seafront at around 7pm on Sunday, August 28.
A Sussex Police spokesman has said “Two men were taken to hospital having reportedly jumped into the sea from Brighton Palace Pier on August 28.
One man has now sadly died from his injuries.
His next of kin have been informed and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner.
The second man has been discharged from hospital.”
This incident lead to a massive joint emergency service operation, with RNLI, Coast Guard, SECAM and Police in attendance.
Police records state the man sadly died on September 7.
