Shoreham RNLI Appoints New Head Launcher

After overcoming personal challenges, Gray steps up as station head launcher.

Congratulations to Graham Kent, a dedicated member of the Shoreham RNLI shore crew, who has recently been certified as a station head launcher. Known affectionately as Gray, he joined the volunteer crew in August 2021, driven by a passion for emergency services and a desire to give back to the community following a serious accident in 2020.

Gray plays a crucial role in the essential shore crew team, responsible for launching and recovering Shoreham RNLI’s two lifeboats. Reflecting on his experience, Gray shared, “When I joined, everyone was so welcoming and friendly at Shoreham lifeboat station, and it’s great to be part of the crew working with unique people. It’s like a large family. I’m grateful to be part of the wonderful team helping to make a difference in the community.”
