Last night, Saltdean Lido, witnessed a momentous event as its iconic neon sign was switched on for the first time since World War II. The original sign, known for its bright and inviting glow, was a beacon of leisure and recreation before the war’s outbreak, but it was dismantled and subsequently lost as the war progressed.

Fast forward 84 years, and the Saltdean Lido has brought a piece of its storied past back to life. The Lido’s management team, dedicated to preserving and celebrating the site’s rich history, has meticulously recreated the original neon sign.
