This morning a traffic incident occurred on the A26 Eridge Road near Royal Tunbridge Wells, forcing the closure of a vital roadway that serves as a key link between Kent and East Sussex. The incident, a three-vehicle collision, happened just after 8:40 am, prompting an immediate response from Sussex Police and various emergency services.

Upon receiving the call, first responders, including police officers, paramedics, and fire brigade teams, rushed to the scene. The severity of the collision was such that fire crews had to employ specialised cutting equipment to rescue several individuals who were trapped inside their vehicles.

Early reports from the scene suggest that, fortunately, the injuries sustained by those involved are not life-threatening.
