The incident, a three-vehicle collision, happened just after 8:40 am, prompting an immediate response from Sussex Police and various emergency services.
Upon receiving the call, first responders, including police officers, paramedics, and fire brigade teams, rushed to the scene. The severity of the collision was such that fire crews had to employ specialised cutting equipment to rescue several individuals who were trapped inside their vehicles.
