Fire Contained in Lewes, No Casualties Reported

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were mobilised to a kitchen fire in a residential building on Station Street, Lewes, earlier today. The emergency call was received at 12.42 PM, prompting immediate action.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered smoke spreading across several floors of the flats. Equipped with breathing apparatus, they tackled the blaze to prevent further escalation. Four fire engines and several officers were deployed to manage the situation effectively.

As of 1.40 PM, it has been confirmed that all individuals in the building have been accounted for, with no reports of missing persons. This rapid response and thorough search ensure the safety of all residents.

Currently, firefighters are conducting welfare checks for everyone living in the block, ensuring their well-being in the aftermath of the fire.
