In an incident early this morning, a police car en route to an emergency call collided with a roundabout on Drove Road, Newhaven, near McDonald’s. The accident, which involved only the police vehicle, led to the temporary closure of one lane while recovery efforts were underway.
The incident occurred around 1 am on March 1, as Sussex police officers were responding to an urgent call. Fortunately, no other vehicles or road users were involved in the collision.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police provided details of the event, stating, “A single police vehicle was involved in a collision on the A259 in Drove Road, Newhaven, at about 1 am. The officers were responding to an emergency at the time of the collision. No other vehicles or road users were affected.”
