Teen Convicted of Charlie Cosser’s Murder

17-Year-Old Found Guilty After Fatal Stabbing at Warnham Party

A 17-year-old has been found guilty of the murder of teenager Charlie Cosser. The defendant, who was 16 at the time of the incident and cannot be identified for legal reasons, stood trial for the stabbing of Charlie, aged 17, at a party in Marches Road, Warnham, in the early hours of Sunday, 23 July last year.

Tragically, Charlie, from Milford in Surrey, succumbed to his injuries two days later on Tuesday, 25 July.

The trial took place at Brighton Law Courts, where after three weeks of proceedings, the jury delivered a guilty verdict. The defendant was convicted of both the murder of Charlie and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Kimball Edey, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: “Our thoughts continue to be with the family, friends and loved-ones of Charlie following this devastating incident.

“This was a complex and fast-moving investigation. We are grateful for all the public’s support and for the witnesses who came forward to help ensure we got justice for Charlie.

“We will make further comment upon sentencing of the defendant.”

The defendant has been remanded in custody, to appear for sentencing on June 19.
