Police Uncover Stolen Motorcycles in Eastbourne Garage

Warning issued to check unattended garages following recent thefts.

A discovery of potentially stolen motorcycles has sparked a local investigation in Eastbourne, shedding light on the ongoing issue of motorcycle theft in the district. Eastbourne Neighbourhood Policing Team, following up on community reports and thorough local inquiries, found four motorcycles this weekend, stored in an unoccupied garage within the town.

The find came after heightened patrols and targeted investigations by local law enforcement. The discovery is part of an effort to address the significant uptick in motorcycle thefts plaguing various areas across the district over recent months.

Authorities believe that the motorcycles might be stolen, given their concealed storage in an unused garage, a method commonly employed by thieves. Photos of the recovered bikes have been released by the police in hopes that owners might recognize and reclaim them.

In light of recent events, Eastbourne Police are intensifying their patrols and investigative efforts to combat the theft issue. They are also issuing a warning to garage owners, urging them to regularly check and maintain their properties, especially those not frequently used or currently vacant.

The police advise property owners to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities immediately. “This find underlines the importance of community vigilance and the role it plays in not only recovering stolen property but also in preventing future thefts,” a spokesperson for the Eastbourne Neighbourhood Policing Team stated.

Residents who recognise the motorcycles or have information related to the thefts are encouraged to contact Sussex Police on 101 or online.
