Suspect Bailed After Robbery of 14-Year-Old in Burgess Hill

Sussex Police are seeking witnesses following the robbery and assault of a 14-year-old boy in Burgess Hill. The incident occurred in Park Road around 4:30 PM on Thursday, 28th December, when the victim was approached by a known acquaintance, another teenage boy.

The assailant demanded the victim hand over various items, including cash and a vape. The confrontation escalated to physical assault, only ceasing when a bystander intervened. Following the incident, the victim was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure and has since been discharged.

In response to this act of violence, police have ramped up patrols in the area and are dedicated to addressing serious violent incidents.

A significant development in the case occurred on Tuesday, 2nd January, with the arrest of a 15-year-old boy from Burgess Hill on suspicion of robbery. The suspect has been released on bail pending further investigation.
