Two Charged Following Serious Stabbing Incident in Worthing

Court dates set for early May as the accused prepare for plea hearings

In an event that shook the community of Worthing, two men have been apprehended and charged in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred near Goring Road. The episode, which unfolded around 6 pm on Sunday, March 24, prompted an immediate police response to the scene.

A 30-year-old man from London sustained a stab wound during the incident and required hospitalisation for his serious, albeit non-life-threatening, injuries. He has been discharged following medical treatment. Additionally, a 22-year-old local man from Worthing was discovered with facial injuries linked to the altercation.

Authorities have identified the suspects as Damien Lee, 28, and George Horsted, 26, both residents of The Quadrant in Worthing. They face serious charges, including Section 18 grievous bodily harm and carrying a knife in a public space, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

Lee and Horsted are slated for plea hearings on May 1 and May 3, respectively, as the legal process moves forward to address this violent incident. In light of these events, Sussex Police is appealing to the public for witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward.
