Devastating Crash in Billingshurst Results in Double Fatality

In a devastating incident that occurred on Wednesday evening, two individuals lost their lives in a collision that took place in Billingshurst. Authorities are now appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information that may assist in the ongoing investigation.

At approximately 9:10 p.m., emergency services rushed to Stane Street following reports of a collision involving a Skoda Fabia and a Renault Clio. The driver of the Skoda, identified as a 22-year-old man from Dorking, and the passenger of the Renault, a 19-year-old woman from Carshalton, unfortunately sustained fatal injuries and could not be saved.

The sole passenger of the Skoda, a 23-year-old man from Dorking, and the driver of the Renault, a 19-year-old woman from Billingshurst, were immediately transported to a nearby hospital with injuries deemed to be life-threatening.

Specialist officers have notified the families and next of kin of those involved, providing them with the necessary support during this tragic time.

Sergeant Ian Foxton expressed his deepest condolences to the families and loved ones affected by this heartbreaking incident. He emphasized the urgent need for information to piece together the events leading up to the collision, urging anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to contact the police. The case has been assigned the reference name “Operation Select.”
