On New Year’s Eve, a fire erupted in a highrise flat in Brighton, prompting the evacuation of the nearby Holiday Inn and other guest facilities. The fire, believed to have started in a bathroom, drew a response from five fire engines. Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, quickly engaged with the situation to manage the blaze in the flat.
As emergency services responded to the fire, police personnel also became involved. It was reported that a man at the scene was experiencing a mental health breakdown. Sussex Police officers arrived to provide the necessary assistance and ensure the safety of all individuals involved.
Both the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and Sussex Police have been contacted for further comments on the incident.
