Four teens arrested and one hospitalized after fight with weapons in Brighton City Centre

Brighton city centre was the scene of a violent altercation on Monday, August 28th, when several people were reported to be fighting with weapons. Police were called to the scene around 5pm, but the suspects had fled on foot and in two vehicles before officers arrived.

However, quick action by CCTV operators led to the arrest of one man in Cannon Place and three further suspects near the i360. One man was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment before being taken into custody.

Three men, two aged 18 and one 19, all from Brighton, were arrested on suspicion of affray and remained in custody at 12.45pm on Tuesday, August 29th. A 17-year-old boy from Brighton was also arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a Class B drug – cannabis.

A spokesperson for the police said: “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to us to come forward. You can report online or call 101 quoting serial 1044 of 28/08.”
