Manhunt Underway for Suspected Van Robbers in Brighton

Police are requesting public assistance following a suspected delivery van robbery in Brighton.

The incident occurred in Wayland Avenue, Withdean, just before noon on Monday, December 18. A driver of a white Ford Transit van reported being accosted by two men while making a delivery. The assailants, who were armed, seized the van and fled the scene.

Prior to this event, the van had made a stop on Dyke Road and then proceeded to Wayland Avenue via Tongdean Drive.

The first suspect is identified as a slender white male, about 5’8” tall, with short brown hair. He was dressed in a brown jacket, yellow T-shirt, navy blue trousers, and a black beanie hat featuring a red 3M logo.

The second suspect is also a white male, described as having an athletic build, around 5’8” tall, with short brown hair. His attire included a blue denim jacket with a white wool collar trim, a white T-shirt, light blue trousers, and a gold necklace.

Witnesses to the incident, or anyone who has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, are encouraged to contact Sussex Police. Reports can be made online or by calling 101, quoting the case number 488 of December 18.
