Updated: Turkey Trouble in Seaford: Power Cut Puts Christmas Feasts on Ice

Update 14:49 – Power has been restored after a fault occurred on a piece of our electrical equipment which controls the power to homes.

In an unforeseen Christmas plot twist, residents of the BN25 area in Seaford have found themselves part of a festive fiasco when a power cut struck this Christmas day afternoon, leaving ovens cold and turkeys tantalizingly undercooked. UK Power Networks issued a statement apologising for the sudden blackout.

The power cut, which could not have been timed more inconveniently, has left many Christmas feasts in suspense.

UK Power Networks estimates the return of power between 18:00 and 19:00, though they suggest some residents might see their lights on sooner.

The timing of the power outage couldn’t have been worse, hitting just as many ovens were warming up for the big Christmas feast. Local culinary enthusiast, Mrs. Clara Plum, shared her story: “There I was, basting the turkey, dreaming of the perfect golden skin, when everything just went dark. The turkey is now sulking in the oven, half-dressed and undercooked!”

Simon from UK Power Network latest update says “I appreciate your continued patience this afternoon. I know having power cuts as often as this must be very disruptive, and our staff are doing everything they can to get this resolved. They are still testing our network in the area, and depending on the local infrastructure this can take some time. However, once they update us we’ll know if our estimated time frame needs to change and why, and I’ll let you know as soon as we hear. In the meantime, if we can offer any support or advice, our team are always available to talk on 105”
