Police are requesting public assistance following a road accident near Rye, involving a red Peugeot 206 convertible, which occurred around 1 pm on March 9 on Camber Road, close to the water sports center. The car, with its roof down at the time, was the only vehicle involved in the mishap.
In the incident, a 26-year-old man from Hastings was severely injured but in a non-life-threatening condition and had to be airlifted to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. Another individual, a 41-year-old man from Bexhill, also sustained serious injuries and was transported to the same hospital. The 33-year-old driver from Bexhill escaped with minor injuries.
Authorities are keen to unravel the details surrounding the collision and are seeking any motorists who might have witnessed the event or possess dashcam footage of the red Peugeot, particularly as it was returning to Sussex from Lydd.
