Hastings Coastguard Team team was called out Wednesday around 0130hrs UTC to investigate a possible mayday.
Due to the large search area they requested support from HM Coastguard Rye Bay (to help carry out a cliff top search) and the inshore lifeboat from RNLI Hastings Lifeboat Station (to carry out a shoreline search) as well as the aerial support from Sussex Police drone.
An extensive search of a large area was carried across Hastings County Park, Fairlight, and Pett Level with nothing untowards seen.
The teams were then stood down and returned to their respective stations.
