Newhaven Coastguard Team were tasked this afternoon to a paraglider that had crashed into the dense gorse bushes besides Newhaven Fort.
Working alongside East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, the team located the casualty, cleared a lengthy path to reach them, assessed for injuries and then extracted them to a point of safety.
The casualty and their wing were fortunate to suffer no injuries, due to their fall being cushioned by the soft (albeit spikey) gorse and brambles.
