A statement by Sussex News on the passing of Her Majesty, Elizabeth II

We at Sussex News regret to announce the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

We join you and the rest of the county and country in mourning the passing of our longest-serving monarch, who spent their life devoted to public service. For many of us, Her Majesty was the only ruler we have ever known in our lifetimes and most are proud this was the case. Few leaders manage to maintain such overwhelming public support after 70 years of rule and doing so is a testament to Her Majesty’s incredible legacy.

The coming weeks will be turbulent as the country goes into a state of mourning and starts to process this most devastating news.

Our deepest condolences to all the royal family at this arduous time, and wish the Prince of Wales courage and fortitude in this time of great transition.

God save the King.
