On Friday (13th January 2023), British Airways flight BA2263 from Gatwick Airport in West Sussex England to Kingston in Jamaica was cruising at around 34,000ft over the Atlantic, when a female passenger became ill.
The flight was reported to initially be diverting to Dublin and was then placed in a hold to dump fuel at 9,000ft.

The crew then declared that they would prefer to return to London Gatwick.
It is understood a Doctor and paramedic were on the flight providing medical assistance to the ill passenger.
The plane landed safely on the runway at Gatwick around 2 hours 40 after declaring an emergency.
Paramedics from SECAmb met the aircraft on arrival.
