Dog walkers in Ashdown Forest are reminded to keep dogs on leads after a Sheep was savaged to death

Ashdown Forest are very sad to report that one of there young Hebridean wethers was killed by a dog inside the enclosure at Gills Lap.

This must have occurred either Sunday afternoon / evening or early Monday morning.

A spokesperson for Ashdown Forest said “There are signs warning dog-walkers on every approach to the enclosure. Please ensure that dogs are under proper control / effectively restrained at all times on the Forest.”

“If you see a dog chasing sheep or loose within one of the grazing enclosures, please call the Rangers immediately on 01342 822846.”
