Fire in Forest Row may have started accidentally by an electrical pylon shorting

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service say a fire by Hartfield Road in Forest Row may have started accidentally by an electrical pylon shorting. Approximately 1.5 hectares of stubble were involved.

ESFRS were called at 13.55 on 11 August 2022.

Crews from two fire engines and two land rovers put the fire out and checked for hotspots.

UK Power Networks is in attendance.

This is the latest in a series of calls about fires in the open in the past few days and the Service is reminding everyone to stay alert to the dangers posed by the dry conditions.
