Intoxicated driver arrested this afternoon between Peacehaven and Newhaven

Acting on information provided by members of the public, local Police officers stopped a vehicle travelling between Peacehaven and Newhaven this afternoon following concerns that the driver may be intoxicated.

The driver provided a positive sample of breath at the roadside, with the result being just over double the legal limit. He was arrested and remains in custody. He will now have to attend Magistrates Court where he faces a disqualification.
