Police are appealing for information following a second knife point robbery robbery at a Co-op store in Terracotta Lane, Burgess Hill, around 11.05pm on Tuesday, July 12.
After the store closed two store members were approached by a man wearing a black jacket with silver marks on the back and hoodie.
He is described as white, thought to be aged in his 30’s, roughly 6’ slim, had a full face covering and is said to have spoken with a northern accent but then ends up sounding southern.
The man who confronted the pair of store workers then threatened them with a knife and demanded he was taken to the safe.
After collecting the contents of the safe he walked to the rear of the store and made off and discarded items in a nearby bush.
Detective Constable Lucy Burningham said: “This is a serious incident and is the second one to take place at this store in three weeks. We believe in both cases it is the same suspect involved. We would appreciate if anyone has information which could help us with our investigation they could report it online or call 101 quoting serial number 1751 of 12/07.”
Alternatively you can report it to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555111.
