Officers have concluded an investigation into a fatal collision that occurred on the A272 near Petworth.
Emergency services were called to Horsham Road near Fox Hill at approximately 7.50 am on Monday, April 29. The incident involved four vehicles: a white Porsche, a white BMW, a black BMW, and a white Audi.
Tragically, a 74-year-old man from Reigate, Surrey, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 65-year-old man from Midhurst, who was driving a separate vehicle, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and received hospital treatment.
Police launched Operation Preston to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Following a post-mortem examination, it was concluded that the 74-year-old man died due to a medical episode while driving.
The investigation has now concluded, and officers have expressed their gratitude to the public for their support during the inquiry.
