Updated: A27 / A26 reopen but delays still occurring

The A26 in East Sussex has re-opened in both directions between A27 Beddingham & A259 Newhaven following flooding.

Highways have said, “There may be a requirement to close the A26 again this evening for further clean-up works, more info will be provided when this is confirmed.”

The A27 has reopened Sussex Tw advise – Eastbound Queuing traffic from Falmer to the Ashcombe roundabout in Lewes 1 lane closed travel time around 30min

Update 2am 21/01/2023 = Final flood clearance works are now complete and the A27 in is now OPEN eastbound between the B2123 near Brighton and the A277 near Lewes.
