Appeal Following Assault Incident Outside Brighton Waitrose

A distressing daytime attack in Brighton leads police to appeal for witnesses and video evidence.

Police in Brighton are requesting public assistance following an assault incident involving a woman outside the Waitrose supermarket on Western Road. The distressing event occurred at approximately 2:15 PM on February 24.

Authorities report that a man allegedly hurled an object at the woman, resulting in injuries severe enough to necessitate hospital treatment. The assailant is described as a white male in his 40s, who may be experiencing homelessness, notably seen with a sleeping bag draped around his shoulders.

Despite pursuing multiple leads, the police continue to seek additional witnesses or anyone who might have captured the incident on video. Members of the public with any relevant information are encouraged to contact Sussex Police online, referencing serial number 811 of 24/02.
