Dog Killed by Electric Rail on Brighton’s Volks Railway

A devastating incident occurred this morning on Brighton Beach when a dog, believed to be a German Shepherd or a similar breed, was electrocuted by a live track on the Volks Railway.

The tragic event took place around 12:30 pm near the Pier Station. The circumstances leading to the dog’s presence on the railway tracks remain unclear.

In a statement addressing the incident, a Brighton council spokesperson expressed deep sorrow over the dog’s death. “We’re very sad to confirm that a dog was killed on the Volks Railway today,” the spokesperson said. They further explained that the dog appeared to have been electrocuted by the live rail while it was off its lead.

The council believes the incident to be an unfortunate accident, noting that there is no evidence suggesting any fault with the railway’s equipment or staff. The statement also conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the dog’s owner, who is understandably distressed by the loss of their pet.

In response to this tragic accident, the council has initiated an investigation to explore potential measures that could be implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future
