Detectives are seeking witnesses in relation to a series of connected business burglaries. Between December 14 and 16, there were 10 reported break-ins at various Co-Op stores across different towns. The affected locations include:
- North Parade, Horsham
- Lintot Square, Southwater
- Two occurrences at Pound Hill, Crawley
- Tanfield Centre, Horsham
- Ilfield Drive, Crawley
- Fitzalan Road, Horsham
- Brighton Road, Horley, in Surrey
- Hartfield Road, Forest Row
- Franklyn Road, Haywards Heath
In several cases, the break-ins were unsuccessful attempts, and no items were taken. However, during the break-in at North Parade, a till with cash was stolen. Additionally, on December 17, a separate incident occurred at B&M in County Oak, Crawley, where two tills were taken.
The authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward, as they believe all these incidents are interconnected. As of now, no arrests have been made.
Detective Inspector Martin Drabble said: “We are treating these incidents seriously and there will be an increased police presence around the affected stores. Our investigation is ongoing.
“If you have any information, you are urged to contact police online or call 101 quoting Operation Forge.
“Alternatively, witnesses are also asked to contact Crimestoppers to help our investigation.”
