East Sussex Fire Service (ESFRS) responded to an emergency call this evening as flames engulfed a garden outbuilding, prompting a large-scale operation. Four fire appliances from Newhaven, Roedean, and Seaford were dispatched to the scene, working together to bring the blaze under control. Currently, one lane of the eastbound A259 one-way system has been closed to facilitate the fire service’s operations.

ESFRS said “At 19:27 crews were called to a residential fire on Lewes Road, Newhaven. 4 fire engines from Newhaven, Roedean & Seaford are in attendance along with a command unit. 2 BA ad 1 hose reel jet are being used. Please avoid the area.”
