50 SUVs tyres deflated in the Hove Seafront area Thursday Morning

The Tyre Extinguishers have struck again in the Brighton & Hove area

50 SUVs were disarmed in the Hove seafront area in the early hours of Thursday morning,

At least 500 SUVs have now been deflated in the Brighton & Hove area with the action showing no signs of stopping.

Rachel Khar, spokesperson for Brighton Tyre Extinguishers, said:

“Brighton’s politicians claim to be “progressive” and have promised to take action on the climate crisis, on air pollution and on road safety. But our city’s public transport is terrible, our roads choked with cars and our air polluted.

We’re taking action because our politicians haven’t got the guts to make the changes that we need. Our message to them is: Take real action, or we’ll take it for you.”

It comes as the Tyre Extinguishers pass the threshold of 5,000 SUVs disarmed across the UK and beyond as the viral climate movement spreads.

The Tyre Extinguishers want to see bans on SUVs in urban areas,
pollution levies to tax SUVs out of existence, and massive investment in free, comprehensive public transport.
