The driver of the A23 bridge strike in November 2021 was in Brighton Magistrates Court yesterday.

With the efforts of the Sussex police Commercial vehicle unit and RPU he was found guilty of dangerous driving. 12 Month Community Order, 12 Month disqualification , 100 hours unpaid work, and received a Fine of £500.

Police and emergency services were called shortly after 12pm. The carriageway was closed in both directions and the A272 Cowfold Road was also closed while Highways England carried out an inspection.
